Description
The Appearance feature 'Display long texts' with options 'On hover' and 'On click' are very useful when viewing tables that hold fields with long text.
In Experiment, the Properties tab tables, e.g., Experimental factors and Raw bioassays will display long text irrespectively of settings for 'Display long texts'.
It would be good if long text could appear 'On hover' or 'On click' in these tables.

This already works for me in Firefox 3.0.12. This feature should work in all tables since this function is built-in to the table generator taglib.
It does not work for me. I expected that Description in Experimental factors table would be hidden (see figure Experiment-properties-tab.png). I'm using Firefox 3.5.3

No, the description in the posted image is not expected to be hidden. It fits on two lines with lots of space to spare. It is only if the text requires three or more lines that it will be hidden. If the "On hover" option was selected instead the description field would probably be marked as a possible long text (a dotted line is displayed to the right), since this option has a 50-characters-is-maybe-too-long limit. It would not affect the display of the text and nothing would be hidden.

Ok, sounds reasonable. However, I have found that the Used values column does not hide when the information requires more than three lines (cf Used values column.png). Is this something that can be fixed?

Hmmm... I don't know. The table is generated with empty cells on the server side... The values are put together by Javascript and added by the browser to the table. I guess it would be possible to mimic the server-side calculations in Javascript as well.
