Description
It would be nice to be able to create news items only visible for specific group of users using the group/user/project system

No, not really. The usage I am thinking of is that some news only concerns different groups on our server (Affymetrix users, Illumina users, privileged plug-in users). As it is now, we have to display information about plug-in updates and new plug-ins to everyone, even users who do not have access to the plug-ins. The users that aren't affected by the news usually react and asks about them.
So, I'll wait until BASE 3 for this nice feature.
