Performance testing creating root Bioassay set

Description
Time taken for creating root Bioassay set in highly variable when creating small Bioassay sets (range 10-50 assays). For larger Bioassay sets (range 60-150) time taken appears to be more reproducible.
Test performed on BASE 2.0.5b. Assays created from Raw bioassays with 55488 spots.
It would be desirable to identify the underlying reason for variable time-taken in the low range of number of assays.
