Editing file type GUI behaves strangely

Description
If one tries to change the 'Type' for a file, there are empty field in the pull-down menu. Selecting one of the non-empty fields will change the value but a subsequent edit of 'Type' will not show the choosen type again. That is, the fields becomes empty after using them. It is easy to test, upload a file and edit its type.
Problem appears in release 2.2.2
