Improvments to the subtype selection menu

One annoying thing about the subtype/subcategory selection menu is that the dropdown menu doesn't allow easy access to the currently displayed subtype. This is particularly annoying when viewing a single item after navigating to it by some other means than the list page. Then, clicking on the left-most generic link will take you to the last used subtype/subcategory used on the list page (which often is a different subtype). Opening the dropdown menu with all subtypes/subcategories also often requires searching before the current subtype is found.

It would be nice to have the current subtype as an extra option that is the first item in the menu.
