Menu item with submenu display incorrectly in IE

Description
The problem is that the top menu extends to the far right of the window and that the submenu is opened outside the visible browser area and it is impossible to select an item from the submenu. I attach a screen shot that shows this for Administrate -> Plugins.
The other top-level menus display correctly (except BASE which also has a submenu).
The workaround is to use Firefox.
