Extra values for assays

Description
In many cases it would be nice to be able to store "extra values" to assays. Typical such numbers would be average intensity and std of the intensity. Can we implement an assay extra values functionality?

If I remember correctly this was up for discussion a long time ago (#403) and can be solved by annotating the assays with regular annotations.
