Experiment explorer is still slow (cf ticket:903) and more performance enhancements are needed (maybe ticket:1374 has some impact ... yes and is targeted in ticket:1403). Replaces 5 in #1375.

Ticket #903 made lots of improvements to the experiment explorer. There are still some slow things. Eg. the initial caching of reporter/position information, but I don't think this be improved anymore. Annotation loading in the experiment explorer is limited to one at a time and I don't think this should affect things very much.
